Presenters: Mark Drake and Kevin Kreitman
Mark and Kevin will present NFPA 484: Standard for Combustible Metals in its entirety (individual metals will be combined) and it’s correlation with NFPA 652: Standard on the Fundamentals of Combustible Dust. The presentation will conclude with a review of the upcoming changes in the 2019 NFPA 484 Standard.
Mark Drake is a Senior Technical Consultant for Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he has over 29 years of experience as a Risk Engineer. He graduated with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He is a Principle member of NFPA 652 and the NFPA Combustible Dust Correlating Committee. He is also currently serving as the Chairman for NFPA 484.
Chief Kevin Kreitman (Ret.) has 37 years’ experience in the fire service dealing with the hazards of combustible metals and dust. He has been an instructor at the National Fire Academy and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer program. He is a principle member of the NFPA 484 and 400 committees and is Chair of the Combustible Dusts Correlating Committee. He has assisted NIOSH with an Injury Investigation Report involving combustible metals and is the author of several papers, articles, and presentations on the hazards of combustible metals and dusts.
